Dare to Dream.. But Don't Stop There!

Dare to Dream.. we have heard this many many times. However, we must go beyond dreaming. A Dream does not reality make. Dreaming is the first step in the journey taking you to the end result. Think of it this way. An architect has a dream/vision of what he thinks a building should look like. He then creates a Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-bound BLUEPRINT... and then clear and concise action steps.... Yes, definitely Dream but don't stop there... Wake up and take ACTION!

Connect.. it's in your DNA!

SHERO on Spirituality: 

The concept of Spirituality for a SHERO is not based on Religion. It is based on connecting and adding value to others. In a business environment what do you do to add value to yourself and add value to others at the same time? Machiavellian tendencies where the end justifies the means and that you must do whatever it takes to get to the top are not only destructive yet they disconnect you from people. If you help someone reach the top chances are you will reach the top with them. If you try to keep someone down you will remain down as well. In your personal life you must connect and add value to all those around you. Not one day a month when you volunteer in an organization but everyday. There is always someone in your sphere of influence that you can add value to.. whether with a simple hello, txt, note etc.... Do yourself a favour.. connect!

One of the reasons we do not reach our goals is because we underestimate the time, effort & perseverance required to attain them. Goals are attained by daily choices we make. Every morning when you begin your day you begin making choices. You choose what to eat and drink. You choose what to wear & how to present yourself to the world. You choose whether to engage with new people and contacts. You choose whether to learn from events that didn't go as planned or you choose to blame others for the very same event. You are always free to choose but you are not free from the consequences of your choice. At the end of the day... The choices you make, make u who u are!

When you hear singing... DANCE!

SHERO on Humanity: 

One of my favourite books (Made into a movie starring one of my favourite actors Gregory Peck) is 'To Kill a Mockingbird'. What makes this book and movie profound was the fact that it addressed the challenges facing the times during which it was written. Ms. Nelle Harper Lee wrote it in 1960. And here we are today... Black vs white has changed to Christian vs Muslim, Gay vs Straight and the divisions regretfully continue... In the movie Atticus Finch said 'It is a sin to kill a Mockingbird because all that it wants to do is sing its heart out for us'... As Humans Being aren't we all Mockingbirds? Is it not our endeavour to sing our hearts out, enjoy life, share our dreams, goals, differences, ideas, creations together with each other? When did it become ok to differentiate between and put a price tag on each other...Don't kill a Mockingbird... dance when it sings!

Sum up your life in one sentence - Can you do it?

SHERO on Enlightenment: 

Picture it if you will... your funeral and your life is about to be summed up in a sentence. The question I have is have you given yourself a life sentence of doom, gloom, apathy, self-loathing, destruction with no possibility of parole? or rather.. will your life's sentence be filled with great accomplishments, humanity, compassion, generosity, kindness to yourself and others? Think about it.. Your Life's Sentence!

I'm sure some of you have heard the saying "Experience is a cruel teacher it gives the exam first and then the lesson". The reality is that many of us do not learn the lesson, do not see the value of the experience and thus are doomed to repeat the painful experience over and over again. Every experience in life is shaping and molding us. You have to choose how you wish to be molded.. Will you be a beautiful piece of art or a lump of clay full of resentment, envy, jealousy and apathy?....

Something to be learned from everyone!

SHERO on Enlightenment: 

Many of you are aware that according to the Mayan Calendar the world was supposed to have ended December 21, 2012 (or rather some had come to this conclusion based on limited knowledge and assumptions) Clearly we are still here. What makes the Mayan Legacy great is the fact that in their time they were masters of astronomy way before Galileo and Newton. Always remember every culture, every race, every gender brings to the table something incredible of value. It is up to us to take the nuggets of knowledge and apply it constructively to build and evolve into our better selves. The choice is always always in your heart, head and hands.... Choose but choose wisely.
I was recently in Chichen Itza in the Yucatan Peninsula Mexico and they spelled out SHERO for me on a pendant with the Mayan symbols... very cool!
