Now that you are here.. what are you going to do about it?


SHERO on Enlightenment: The fact that you are reading this post means that you are a survivor. Not only are you a survivor in terms of the biology of you being born but also the fact that generations before you have been effected by wars,diseases etc. and have perished but you are here. What does this mean? Take full account of your blessings, take full account of your opportunities, take full account of your gifts. Do not take your presence for granted.. many people sacrificed for us to be able to have the lives that we do today...Learn from yesterday and build on tomorrow as you fully appreciate your present.

Be Thankful, Be Appreciative... Put your life in perspective.


SHERO on Opportunity: It is absolutely crucial that we appreciate all that we have. It is absolutely crucial to be thankful for what we have. While some of us complain that we do not have designer shoes to wear, there are those who don't have shoes at all and then there are those who do not have feet to be able to wear shoes. The point is this, if you just focus on what you don't have the significance of what you have will never truly reveal itself to you. Be thankful, be appreciative of people, events and things in your life and work constructively towards getting what you want interdependently.

Is your Day to day based on Major's or Minor's?


SHERO on Responsibility: Success in any venture is based on all the little steps you take to get from where you are to where it is you want to go. You can not cram success overnight or on the weekend. Your focus MUST be clear, your reason for wanting what you want MUST be clear and your actions MUST be consistent. Our minds only focus on a limited amount of information at any given moment. With this in mind.. are your current actions taking you towards or away from your goals? Where does your focus lie? Be aware of all your actions throughout the day! Don't focus on little stuff and lose sight of what is crucial and important for you!

Be the Change!


SHERO on Responsibility: Life becomes real only when you are! Before you expect kindness, gentleness, love, compassion, authenticity, honesty etc from others make sure you practice it in your day to day life. Wanting something is one thing... putting it into action is another. Make sure what you say and what you do are in unison. Keep your ego in check, it can fool you into thinking you have done no wrong. A wise man once said he who has no sin let him cast the first stone. It is ok to want to see a sunset but it won't work if you are walking east!
 
 
Be the Change you want to see, don't just complain that people are this or that.....

Let's practice what we preach


SHERO on Responsibility: The word of the day is Bullying.. we are all speaking against bullying and creating awareness for our children to be aware of bullies and to stand up and/or report bullies. As adults we too have to take responsibility for being bullies.. every time we lie, every time we gossip, every time we manipulate, every time we make fun of another culture, race, religion, or gender we become bullies... We hide behind our computers and send texts, emails etc that are hurtful but we think we get away with it because it is not face to face. What example is that for our children? Words can hurt but they can also build... Let's build... Let's practice what we preach, let's lead by example NOW! Let's grow up before we expect our children to do so!
 
 
  
ADULTS... Let's practice what we preach... we must ALL stop bullying not just children!

SHERO on Enlightenment: Ever heard of these beliefs?? Don't judge a book by it's cover, all that glitters is not gold, if it's too good to be true it probably is.....the list is endless. Although human nature is such that we need to put t
hings in categories to make sense of the world around us always be aware that life is not just one or the other, good or bad, black or white etc... we are a system of beliefs and we can change them if we choose to. A negative belief is just as real as a positive one...there is always more to the story, you just need to know where to look and push through your limiting beliefs...

Is what you see what you get?


SHERO On Enlightenment: What are your belief systems about success and richness? How do you measure them? Do you base it on the money in ones bank account? The labels that one wears or the car that they drive? Or is it the the house and the area code they live in? If you are monetarily rich does that mean you heart matches that richness? Are you equally rich with compassion, consideration and empathy? If someone speaks loudly does it mean that s/he knows more than someone who speaks softly or doesn't speak at all? Is humility a weakness and being loud and obnoxious means you are a go getter? Today check in our beliefs about success... sometimes things are not as they seem.
 
 


Be careful of the belief system that solely relies on the premise of what you see is what you get.

Satyagraha

SHERO On Responsibility: Change can come in many ways.. sometimes by violence which not only kills the present but damages generations to come... or by peaceful protest and refusing to follow the status quo. Leaders such as Gandhi and Martin Luther King used the concept Satyagraha which meant peaceful protest and refusing to cooperate with anything that was deemed wrong. The entire point of non-violence is to maintain tranquility of the mind so you can see things clearly and have greater understanding. You see when we are yelling and screaming at each other in our homes or offices or are shooting each other in the streets the part of the brain that is looking for solutions shuts down. Violence (whether verbal or physical) leads to greater violence. Peace leads to greater peace... The responsibility lies in our hands... Leadership comes in all forms, shapes and sizes....What do you want for yourself and your family and for your country and ultimately for the planet... There will always be someone who simply cares for their own personal gain... but I believe there are more people who want the best for themselves as well as others.. win win... Don't give up, don't give in, don't get depressed.... This is not about just sitting under a willow tree and singing kumbaya wishing things will get better...it's about taking constructive interdependent action in our day to day lives and leading by example...
 
 
Satyagraha... No more violence.. whether at home, in your office, or on the streets with guns... whether to girls or boys of all backgrounds, races, religions, gender or ages... Stop judging each other based on limiting beliefs.. none of us are omnipotent, omniscient or omnipresent...
